James Joseph Collins, Jr.
Mount Wolf- James J. Collins Jr. 68 passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Maria T. Collins for 48 years.
Born on June 21, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pa, he was the son of the late James J. Collins Sr. and Marion E. Collins.
Jim worked at Goodmark Foods in Folcroft, Pa as a supervisor for 17 years. He was currently working at High Steel Structures for the past 29 years.
Jim was such a strong man with an incredible work ethic which he instilled in his children, who are honored to call him their Dad. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren swimming in his pool that he loved so much. Jim enjoyed playing endless hours on his piano or one of his many guitars, watching his favorite sport teams, the Eagles, and the Phillies on tv, being an Eagle Scout, and sitting outside in the warm weather doing his word puzzles. Jim was quite the handy man and great at it. Above all, Jim’s greatest love in life was his wife, Maria. Jim and Maria would always sit and talk with each other about their day, as they both loved each other’s company more than anything. Jim was a devoted husband, and they made the best team together.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Maria, brother Harry Collins, children James Collins III, John Collins, Tiffany Pojani, Amber Hacker, Erika Fitzkee, and grandchildren Paisley, Johnny, Chase, Layla, Axel, Ellie, Milena, Everly, Gianna, Chloe and Sophia. Jim is preceded in death by his sisters Dale Holcomb and Donna Frick.
His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 535 Conewago Creek Road, Manchester, PA. As I Sit In Heaven, As I sit in heaven and watch you everyday I try to let you know with signs I never went away, I hear you when you’re laughing and watch you as you sleep I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep, I see you wish the days away begging to have me home, so I try to send you signs so you know you’re not alone. Don’t feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me, Heaven is truly beautiful just you wait and see. So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free, then I know with every breath you take you’ll be takin one for me.
